SONOFF MINI Extreme Wi-Fi Smart Switch (Matter-enabled)

As a smart home (SH) enthusiast I’m always looking for devices that allow to complete more and more my smart ecosystem, my SH run on Apple Home and I was looking for an affordable device that help me make my lights smart while having integration with Apple Home natively or by Matter this device meet all my requirements and expectations, the paring is easy the ewlink app provides nice options and configuration in case you don’t have an SH platform in Apple Home the automations with it work all the time, I love how affordable it is being Matter compatible while having a size that allows so much versatility when installing it and the wiring and configuration options.

The only thing I might complain is that there is one of the 10 devices I bought that for some reason connects to the WiFi router that is further away (I have eero mesh WiFi routers) which results in it not responding for having poor signal (has happened once in the almost two months after installation), I have another one installation in the same receptacle and doesn’t do that. I wish that some OTA update fixes that.

Note: I have being using these since September 2023 and in January I bought the rest that were missing.

I had purchased sonoff products from this company over the past few years occasionally, but this time, I purchased a few of these + other stuff , it's been more than 40 days, the order is not arrived, can't even track the order as they use a dodgy shipping company called fast horse, and worst is now even they do not get back to my follow emails!!

The device is compact, allowing easy insertion into small spaces. However, the clamps are too small and cannot accommodate larger wires. Despite having the latest firmware and being close to the router, I experience connectivity issues once in a while which I resolve by disconnecting it shortly.

I have bought so far 70 of those units and installed 50 of them throughout my house, the unit works great and is very easy to install. it is compatible with both Google home/google nest as well as Apple, be have both at home so we connected them to both systems and it works great enabling you to switch lights off from your phone or via voice command or even when you are away from home. You-beau product, the only thing is that it does not work with dimmable switches.

The device is very small and can be easly inserted in small places, but this means that even the clamps are small and they do not accept big wire.
By the way, at the beginning the device kept loosing connection after some minutes after turning on, despite the latest FW and the proximity to the router. I had to restore factory setting and start all from the beginning; now it seems to work.

Sounded really good but after i didn't get them to install correctly my self I had paid for two electricity experts to come here and install them but they couldn't get the job done either.

In some cases the cabling of my home was not supported but in most cases the sonoff mini just didn't connect.

Wrote a return email no answer until now.

Matter over Wi-Fi devices depend heavily on link local multicast and broadcast.
If this traffic is not forwarded properly then things will break (such as originally described).
Changes to my networking infrastructure fixed my problem.

I almost 50 other Matter over Wi-Fi products (like this) working with their Native App, SmartThings and Google Home.
Unfortunately, this only works with the Native App (eWeLink) and SmartThings.
It has been 3 weeks since I reported the problem and we have gotten nowhere.

I have had four of these for about a month and one, unexplicably, went offline in both eWeLink and SmartThings.
I had to cycle power to heal it.

Connect to Home Assistant Matter integration without problems. At the moment the most easy setup with a Sonoff device experienst. Big advantage that the device still works if controlled through contacts S1-S2 without an available Wifi connection. (In use in conjunction with 4 parallel push buttons)
