1. Introduction At LinkTwin (operated by LinkTwin LLC, 75 E 3rd St, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA), a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform for URL shortening and deep linking, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information. By using our services, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
- Personal Information: When you register for our services, we collect your name and email address. For premium plans, payment information is collected and processed by our payment processor Stripe. We do not store full card details.
- Social Login Data: If you register or log in using a social account (Google or Apple), we receive your name, email address, and profile ID from that provider. We do not receive your social media passwords or post on your behalf.
- Usage Data: We collect data on how you interact with our services, including shortened URLs created, click-through rates, device type and operating system, browser type, IP addresses, and referrer information.
- Geolocation Data: We collect approximate geographic location (country and city) derived from IP addresses for analytics and click reporting purposes. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar technologies to enhance user experience, track interactions, and support advertising. See Section 6 for full details.
3. Legal Basis for Processing We process personal data based on:
- Consent: For communications, cookies, and certain analytics.
- Contractual Necessity: To provide and manage your account and services.
- Legitimate Interests: To improve our services, prevent fraud, and ensure security.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Service Delivery: To provide, maintain, and enhance our URL shortening and deep-linking services.
- Communication: To send service updates, account notifications, and promotional offers (you may opt out via the unsubscribe link in emails).
- Analytics and Improvement: To analyze usage trends and improve our platform's functionality.
- Advertising: To deliver targeted ads through third-party advertising platforms, using anonymized data where possible.
- Fraud Prevention and Security: To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and malicious link creation.
5. Analytics and Tracking Tools We use the following third-party tools to analyze how our platform is used and to measure advertising performance. Each tool may set its own cookies or tracking pixels on your device:
- PostHog: Product analytics tool that tracks user interactions within the platform (button clicks, page views, feature usage). Data is used to improve the user experience. PostHog Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) & Google Ads: Tracks website traffic, user behavior, and conversion events. GA4 is also linked to Google Ads to measure ad campaign performance and enable remarketing. Data may be transferred to Google servers in the US. Google Privacy Policy.
- Matomo: Privacy-focused web analytics platform used to measure page views, sessions, and traffic sources. Matomo Privacy Policy.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook): Tracks visits and conversions from Facebook and Instagram ads. Data is shared with Meta Platforms, Inc. Meta Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of these tracking tools by declining non-essential cookies via our cookie consent banner, or by using the opt-out mechanisms provided by each platform.

7. Device Detection and App Redirect Behavior LinkTwin's core functionality involves detecting your device type, operating system, and installed applications in order to route shortened links directly into mobile apps (e.g., opening a YouTube link in the YouTube app rather than a browser). To enable this:
- We detect your device type (iOS, Android, desktop) and operating system version from your browser's User-Agent header.
- We record the outcome of each redirect attempt (e.g., app opened, fallback to browser) as part of click analytics.
- We do not install software on your device, and we do not access your device's list of installed apps directly — redirect behavior is based on standard deep link URL schemes supported by each platform.
- Device and OS data collected during link clicks is associated with the link's analytics and may be used to improve deep link routing accuracy.
8. Social Login We offer the option to register and log in using third-party social accounts. Supported providers are:
- Google — we receive your name, email address, and Google profile ID.
- Apple — we receive your name (if shared) and an Apple-assigned email or private relay address, and your Apple user ID.
We use this information solely to create and manage your LinkTwin account. We do not post on your behalf or access any data beyond what is listed above. Your social provider's privacy policy governs how they handle your data before passing it to us.
9. Data Sharing and Sub-Processors We may share data with the following categories of third parties:
- Stripe: Payment processing for credit/debit card subscriptions. We do not store your full card details. Stripe Privacy Policy.
- PayPal: Payment processing for PayPal subscriptions. Payments are handled directly by PayPal; we do not store your PayPal credentials. PayPal Privacy Policy.
- Google: Analytics (GA4), Google Ads, and social login (OAuth). Google Privacy Policy.
- Meta Platforms: Advertising measurement via Meta Pixel. Meta Privacy Policy.
- Reddit, Inc.: Advertising measurement via Reddit Pixel. Reddit Privacy Policy.
